Meet the Authors
Two friends, one story
Dawson Hunt & Evan Hoerlein
Co-Authors
Dawson Hunt (right) and Evan Hoerlein (left) met while at a Washington State University young adult group hosted by Living Faith Fellowship in the late fall of 2022. They quickly became friends and would spend much of their time outside of coursework together- whether that be running around deep in the woods or sitting down around a good board game. Dawson is originally from Modesto, California, and he, his wife Madeline (and Baby Hunt on the way in early 2027!), call eastern Washington home. His first book, entitled The Scavenger Hunt, was published in 2025. Evan is from Bothell, Washington, and remains active on the west side of the state. In 2024, the two played their first game of cribbage together: a game that has defined many mornings and accompanied many great conversations. It was on a Tuesday in early May of 2026 that an idea came to Dawson. He texted Evan about writing a short story about "The Ghosts of Cribbage Past" together. And that very night, they began the long and arduous journey that led to this book. Both of them hope that you enjoy a classic retold in A Cribbage Carol, and hopefully grow in involvement to be blessed in a genuine community. And cribbage is a great game to find community in. Just saying.
